Darkness

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:1

Whenever there is darkness – its an indication that God is not far off.

Though the waters were dark — there was the Spirit of God — hovering over the face of the waters.

Genesis 1 continues on: And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good.

In that moment: God. Spoke. Light.

Whenever there is darkness — God is nearby.

Watching.
Aware.
Speaking light into the situation.

Some of us are walking through dark days and may feel like we are surrounded by dark waters – but the Spirit of God is nearby.
Deeply aware of your situation.
Poised to move, speak, act – and bring light to the darkness.

In your darkness – God will speak light.

Hope — where there was no hope.
Peace — where peace cannot exist.
Courage — where fear once ruled.

The light won’t come from something you can see or touch or purchase or secure.
It won’t come from a person.

Light will come by the very Word of God.

That’s why David said in Psalm 119:105 –– “Your WORD is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”

The Spirit of God will bring the Light of God by the Word of God.

In the darkness — look for the light that comes from God’s word.
That’s where you will find it.

God is not afraid of the dark – or absent in it.

He speaks light.
He declares hope through His word.
He is hovering over your darkness — and He will bring the light.
