As I read the news this morning — the outlook is bleak.
People are afraid, the economy has fallen and cannot get up.
Gold, even oil is down. (wait. that’s a problem?)
I wrote about Psalm 46 awhile back, but it’s time to revisit it.
The context of Psalm 46 is chaos.
Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
[Though] its waters roar [and] be troubled,
[Though] the mountains shake with its swelling.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved
And then..verse 10.
Be still, and know that I [am] God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth
It’s in the midst of chaos that we can be at rest.
Because ultimately, God is in control.
It’s not the end of the world. I know the end.
I’ve read about in the Bible and it’s much cooler than a economic meltdown.
We get to go to heaven.
We get to enjoy the Marriage Supper of the lamb.
The earth goes through rough times.
Jesus comes back riding a white horse.
He’s got a sword and a tattoo.
And I’m coming behind him, along with a bunch of you guys and we get to ride horses too.
So don’t worry.
This too shall pass.
