Ruth comes back with a bounty to her mother in law Naomi.
Naomi is impressed with all that Ruth brings home, and asks her:
Where have you gleaned today? And where did you work?
Blessed be the one who took notice of you… Ruth 2: 19
These should be the questions that we ask of ourselves daily.
Where have I gleaned today?
What was I able to glean, to gather from God’s word?
There is always something there for the faithful christian to gather.
Words. Promises. Hope. Challenge.
Where have I worked today?
Jesus said that the “fields are white for harvest, but the workers are few..”
The Christian should be busy — gleaning from God’s word, and working in His field.
Whatever field you are in – – the Master is the same.
And He is looking to bless you with the same fruit — souls.
Blessed is the one who takes notice of us — the Owner of God’s vineyard, the Farmer, the Shepherd,
the King — Jesus.
