But is He real?

I was sitting on the floor in Barnes and Noble with my daughter yesterday,
checking out the children’s Bibles.  My daughter Gemma suddenly said:

“Is God even still real?”

Good question. Children speak their minds, adults are often afraid to.
And it’s a question that most of the world is asking (if, only secretly).

IS God still real?

Of course He is.
But people go to church and they don’t experience that reality.
Or they have encounters with God’s people (maybe just through
media reports of Christian bumblings) — and they don’t see that reality either.

God is real. He is really working in my life, and probably yours as well.

But is that reality on display?
Is the reality of Jesus Christ being conveyed in our churches,
in our marriages, in our life decisions, in our shopping habits,
and our profession?

The sign of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), and the tangible expression
of the Reality of a living God are one in the same: Power.

Is my life, my ministry, my everyday existence marked by the power
of the Holy Spirit — Or is it marked by the NTW t-shirt, or Christian slogan
on the rear end of my car?

Is He real? Oh yes. I think so.
